The mount attaches the suspension strut to the vehicle; one side is fastened to the vehicle, the other to the strut. In the middle is insulating rubber. As the vehicle moves, the up and down impact pushes and pulls at the mount. The mount cushions impact, to reduce the vibration and noise that would otherwise transmit to the vehicle.
Why choose Gabriel strut mounts?
- Manufactured to OEM specification
- Excellent rubber durability and elasticity
Where is the strut mount located?
Strut mounts are located about a foot and a half above the middle of each wheel, in the suspension tower.
Why replace it?
- Age changes the density of the rubber so more vibration and noise can be transmitted into the vehicle
- The bearing portion of the mount wears
When to replace them?
When the struts or coil springs are being replaced because of age or wear, then also replace the mounts. Disassembly of the entire strut and spring assembly is required to remove and replace the mount. Therefore replacing all worn components together will save time and money.
